Privacy Policy

Consumed (“we”, “our”, or “us”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data when you use the Consumed mobile application (the “App”).
By using the App, you agree to the practices described here.
1. Who we are

2. Information we collect
Information you provide directly
- Account information— first name, last name, username, email address, and password (passwords are never stored in plaintext; they are managed by our authentication provider).
- Profile content— items you log (books, films, podcasts, restaurants, etc.), notes you write, “worth it” ratings, and metadata you add.
- Profile picture— if you upload one.
Information collected automatically
- Device information— limited device metadata required for the App to function (e.g., screen size, OS version, time zone). We do not collect device identifiers for advertising purposes.
- Usage data— basic crash reports and error logs. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs.
Information from third-party APIs
When you use autofill features, the App sends the title or search term you enter to one of these public APIs to fetch metadata:
- Open Library (books)
- iTunes Search API (podcasts, films, TV)
- TMDb(films, TV — if enabled)
We do not share your name, account, or any personally identifying information with these services. Only the public search query is sent.
3. How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App.
- Authenticate you and keep your account secure.
- Sync your items between devices and to other users you choose to follow or share with.
- Respond to your support requests.
We do not:
- Sell your personal information to third parties.
- Use your data for targeted advertising.
- Use third-party tracking SDKs.
4. How your information is shared
- With other users you choose— when you follow another user or set your profile to public, the items you log become visible to the people you’ve granted access to. You can change your profile to private at any time in Edit Profile → Public profile.
- With service providers— we use Supabase (a hosted Postgres + authentication service) to store your data. Supabase is bound by their own privacy commitments.
- For legal reasons— we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, or valid legal process.
We do not share your information with anyone else without your consent.
5. Data retention
We retain your account and content for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we permanently delete your profile, items, and associated content within 30 days (some backups may persist briefly for technical reasons).
To request account deletion, email consumed@tinkerstudiosinc.com from the email address associated with your account. You can also delete your account directly in-app via Edit Profile → Delete account.
6. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you.
- Request correction or deletion of your information.
- Export your data in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your information.

If you are a California resident, you also have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). If you are in the EU/UK, you have rights under the GDPR.
7. Security
We use industry-standard encryption in transit (HTTPS) and at rest. Authentication is handled by Supabase Auth, which follows best practices for password hashing and session management. No security measure is perfect, but we work continually to protect your information.
8. Children
Consumed is not directed at children under 13 (or under 16 in the EU). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page reflects the most recent change. Material changes will be communicated in-app or via email.
